Membership

How to renew your STC membership

You can renew your membership through the national website at www.stc.org. Be sure to specify that in addition to renewing your membership, you also wish to join the San Diego chapter (costs $25 extra) to take advantage of discounted pricing on chapter meetings and other benefits.

Membership advantages

When you join STC you become a member of the International Society. You are affiliated with the chapter in your area, meaning that you receive that chapter's publications and mailings in addition to Society publications and mailings. You are considered a "member" at any STC function, whether it's a function of your local chapter, of another chapter, or at the regional or International level.

The Society site offers many resources for new or existing members, which you can access on the STC website: http://www.stc.org.

For more information about STC or the San Diego Chapter, contact our local Membership VP: member [at] stc-sd.org

Volunteer Opportunities

There are many ways to get your money's worth from a professional organization. You attend meetings, read the journals, and network with your peers. Something a lot of us never realize though is that you can also get personal satisfaction and growth from your professional association. How? By working on a committee. It's not just a resume booster—it's fun and you learn a lot.

The San Diego Chapter strives to be the best. We have dedicated chapter leaders who are constantly working on new ways to serve the members. You can help by lending a hand with a one-time task, working as part of a committee to complete a specific project, or by offering advice and making decisions as a member of a standing committee. We have something for everyone, no matter what your skill level or the amount of time and energy you can dedicate.

Some of the currently available volunteer positions include:
