Do You Want to be a Mentee or a Mentor?
Are you a technical writer or technical communication college student at UCSD or San Diego State University (SDSU) who is looking for an experienced technical communication mentor to assist you during your transition from school to a technical communication career? Or, are you new to the technical communication field and would like someone to assist you in marketing yourself as a contractor or professional employee?
Are you a senior technical writer or technical communicator who would like to espouse your passion in the field by mentoring college students or those entering the communication field?
What is the Length of the Program?
If you are interested in being mentored (a mentee) or being a mentor, you are welcome to sign-up for the new STC-SD mentoring program. The program requires a 10-month commitment by the mentees (college students and new technical communicators) and the mentors (senior technical communication professionals).
If your interests match the skills of a particular mentor, you may be selected for the first session of the mentoring program.
Do I Need to be a Member of the San Diego STC Chapter to Participate?
You do not have to be a member of the San Diego STC chapter to be a mentor or mentee, and the service is free. The mentors are all volunteers of the San Diego STC chapter.
