Create a Winning Portfolio
STC-SD Workshop — May 17
STC’s Jack Molisani and Pam Coca will present a one-day workshop on preparing and maintaining your portfolio. In the morning session, Jack will discuss how to ace an interview using a paper-based portfolio. After lunch, Pam will provide technical tidbits about electronic portfolios. Throughout
the day, you will learn the pros and cons of both portfolio types, get ideas for creating a winning portfolio that showcases your technical communication skills, and learn how to show prospective clients and hiring managers why they need what you are selling!
Some of the topics covered:
- Why you should create a portfolio
- What to include and how to get things to include
- What to do when all of your work is proprietary
- How to use a portfolio in an interview
- When and why to put your portfolio online
- How to show off your skills
- Which products to use to create an electronic portfolio
The Adobe Technical Communication Suite (FrameMaker 8, Acrobat 3D version 8, Captivate 3, and RoboHelp 7, list price $1599) will be raffled off at the workshop!

Late Registration or Walk-In Registration and Payment
Bring a check or cash to the workshop and register for the walk-in price. Late or walk-in registration is on a first-come, first-served, and space-available basis.

Continental breakfast and lunch are included with pre-paid registration, but not guaranteed with late or walk-in registration.
