Chapter Voice Mail Discontinued

By Lance-Robert, Treasurer, San Diego STC Chapter

Dear STC-San Diego Members,

Because we receive so few calls on it, the voice-mail service for the chapter has been discontinued. This will save the chapter $21.32 per month, or $255.84 per year.

The fastest way for you to contact a council member is by e-mail, but, if you need to contact a council member by telephone, you can reach the treasurer at (858) 613-8034. This number will be posted on the chapter Web site. Please bear in mind that this is a business number and, as such, is not dedicated to the chapter. If you do not get an answer when you call, please leave a message, and the treasurer will contact you or relay your message to the appropriate council member as soon as he can.

If you have ideas about how we could spend the money we save to better serve the chapter, please send them to treasurer@stc-sd.org.

I hope that you all had a good summer. I look forward to seeing you again at the next chapter meeting on Wednesday, September 10, at the Red Lion Hanalei in Mission Valley.

Thank you,

Lance

Adopt a Book!

By Walter Hanig, President

Am I the only one to have a collection of books for versions of software that I've since upgraded or replaced? I think not.

Am I the only one who has a painfully difficult time placing a book into a trash can? I think not.

Am I the only one who'd rather get something useful free instead of paying for it? I think not.

Have we got a deal for you!

Bring any unwanted books relating to technical communications to the September 10 meeting. We'll have a table where you can leave your no-longer-neededs. (We'll trust that the books, though used, are properly yours no matter how they're labeled.)

Anyone who sees something they want is welcome to take it. We do ask that you take only one until everyone has had a chance.
