Looks Forward to New Year |
We are planning for this new publishing year and need your help. If you can contribute in the capacity of writer, interviewer, book reviewer, or proofreader; or if you have some great ideas, we need to hear from you! |
Welcome to the STC Signature newsletter. As we begin the 2003-2004 chapter season, we look forward to the challenges and opportunities this new year brings. I hope to continue the tradition of presenting a quality newsletter to our members. We have a great newsletter staff, and we're beginning to stir some interest with our members to contribute articles, advice, and helpful tips for using the tools of our trade. We are also proud to celebrate STC's 50th anniversary, so we will share some of the history of our organization, including how it has grown through the years. We look forward to hearing from you so that we can share the wealth of knowledge within our technical community. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a fresh newcomer, we need to read your perspectives about personal experiences in the field, what's recently been happening in our profession, or something you may have recently learned. Bonnie Nicholls, a newcomer to our profession, contacted me to volunteer her services, as she transitions from her career as a journalist. Bonnie was able to perfectly summarize our goals for the Signature newsletter, drawing on her experiences as current editor of the San Diego Press Club's newsletter. Below is Bonnie's summary in a nutshell of what we want to do for you, our members, through publication of the Signature newsletter. As we receive your valuable contributions to the newsletter, we're hoping to deliver cutting edge technical information, helpful technical tips, introductions of who's who in our chapter, and some fun. Through our monthly publication of Signature, we want to: Contact us today at stcsignature@yahoo.com so that we can get you scheduled on our monthly publishing calendar. We look forward to keeping this newsletter friendly, informative, and interesting for you, our members. |
