DITA Tools Webinars
Anna Parker-Richards (president of the STC Toronto chapter)
The STC Toronto chapter is putting on a series of DITA tools webinars.
Here's the link to our home page: www.stctoronto.org and here's the link to the webinar series page: http://www2.stctoronto.org/get-involved/events/webinar.
Webinar Schedule
Upcoming:
- oXygenXML – Thursday, April 14th, 2011
10AM to 11:30AM EST
Completed – these sessions were recorded and will be posted on YouTube.
- XMetaL – Tuesday, March 8th, 2011
- Quark XML Author – Tuesday, February 1st, 2011
- Adobe FrameMaker 10/DITA – Tuesday, February 22nd, 2011
Our webinar series is a bit of a twist on the typical DITA presentation in that we're encouraging the vendors to show their wares rather than focus on the fundamentals of structured authoring and DITA elements. The agenda is simple: Bernard Ashwanden does a 20 minute DITA overview, the vendor demonstrates their product for 45 minutes, and then Q&A.
We have room for 100 participants and with our local distribution list, we really are only attracting 30 to 40 participants. We did the first session with Quark, are in the process of cleaning up the recording, and plan to post it in on YouTube to share with everyone. People who attended the first session were really pleased and several are asking me for the recording.
