1. Get involved and network with STC communities
STC has over 60 diverse and active communities known as chapters and special interest groups (SIGs). You can connect with other tech comm professionals in your chapter’s geographic area, or virtually by area of interest with a SIG. 2. Get certified with STC’s CPTC program

STC’s Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) certification program gives you the opportunity to stand out as a tech comm professional, demonstrate your knowledge and expertise in the field, and provide evidence of your abilities.
Members save pay only $245 for the CPTC Foundation exam (a savings of $245 off the nonmember rate).
3. Add STC publications to your print library
As a member of STC, you receive immediate digital access to the award-winning publications Intercom magazine and Technical Communication journal. Add a print subscription for Intercom magazine to your membership for only $60 and a subscription to Technical Communication for only $75.
4. Upgrade to Gold
Upgrade to Gold membership today and take advantage of exclusive access to benefits such as:
- Print copies of Intercom magazine.

- Special 65th Anniversary pricing for the Technical Communication Summit & Expo until 31 March.
- Membership in any or all special interest groups (SIGs) and in one chapter of your choice.
To upgrade to Gold, STC would simply need to collect the difference in the membership rates. Professional & Academic would pay only $196, New Professionals would pay $235, and Student members would pay $330.
