Theresa has been a professional technical communicator in San Diego for 3 years and has been a past volunteer in the chapter. At the global cybersecurity company where she works, Theresa has contributed to the content and communications strategy both in the local San Diego office and globally. She has been influential for evolving the product design and localization teams into a unified communication strategy for all products. She is also involved in interaction design on the company’s websites. She holds a B.A in French Literature from UCSD and a Technical Communications Professional Certificate from UCSD Extension.

Sara is an experienced technical writer, editor, and knowledge management specialist. She has worked within startups and global companies contributing to B2B and B2C functions. She holds a B.S. in technical communication and communication studies from James Madison University.
I am semi-retired. Most recently, I was an information architect at Teradata. I’ve also worked as a technical communications manager, writer, program manager, and software designer. I served STC two years as chapter president, four years as VP of Finance (aka Treasurer), and most recently as VP for Professional Development. My goals as Employment VP are to publicize locations of job-listing, connect job-hunters and placement firms and contracting shops, and provide information for successful job searches, resumes, and interviews.

Alice Brzovic is an experienced technical editor and website content writer and editor. IT industry experience includes life sciences, enterprise contact center applications, and transportation.
Iswar is a content engineer who enjoys advancing technology from concept to market. His industry background includes biotechnology, enterprise datacenters and energy. In addition to technical communications roles, he has worked in product management and solution sales. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Calgary and a graduate certificate in Materials Science from Stanford University.

Lori Meyer, an STC Fellow, is serving her fifth year as VP of membership for STC San Diego. During her years as an STC member, she has served many STC communities in a variety of roles, including chapter and SIG secretary, webmaster, employment manager, conference co-chair, SIG co-manager, and chapter president. In addition to her work for STC San Diego, she is currently serving as membership manager for the Rochester, East Bay, and Puget Sound Chapters, director-at-large for the Carolina chapter, and co-manager of the Instructional Design and Learning SIG. She is a past president of the East Bay and Washington DC-Baltimore Chapters and is a former co-manager of the Technical Editing SIG, where she created a SIG awards program that is now in its fifth year.
Lori is a technical communicator in Northern California, where she develops and edits software documentation, online help, and training. Lori feels great excitement about the potential of social media and mobile technology to build on our work as technical communicators. She is looking forward to continued service to the San Diego Chapter.

The Fundraising Coordinator holds a key responsibility in the chapter by securing corporate donations and sponsorships, grants and any other income source available to the STC San Diego chapter. Your contributions will directly influence the chapter’s ability to provide more and larger events to our members leading to increased chapter meeting attendance and overall membership. You will have the freedom to contribute new ideas, develop strategies and expand our reach.

The community engagement coordinator facilitates our active membership program, helps drive member interaction, and spread awareness of chapter events and activities. Your contributions will help increase chapter meeting attendance and overall membership. Tasks can include posting on social media, making announcements at meetings and contributing or updating content on our website. No coding or web experience necessary. You will have the freedom to contribute new ideas, develop new programs and expand our reach.
Programs Manager (open position)
The programs manager schedules meetings, coordinates event details, helps plan engaging meeting content and ensures that event details are communicated to members across our digital assets. Your contributions will help generate interest and excitement in chapter events leading to increased chapter meeting attendance and overall membership. You will have the freedom to contribute new ideas, develop strategies and expand our reach.
Social Media (open position)
The social media coordinator actively posts on social media on a regular basis and uses SEO strategies to boost our post reach. Posting includes chapter events, general technical communication topics and STC information. Your contributions will help generate interest and excitement in chapter events leading to increased chapter meeting attendance and overall membership. You will have the freedom to contribute new ideas, develop strategies and expand our reach.
Professional Development (open position)
The professional development coordinator maintains our online professional development resources, helps drive member interaction on LinkedIn and our Slack channel regarding professional development, and stays up to date on technical communications professional development events. No coding or web experience necessary. Tasks can include posting on social media, making announcements at meetings and generating content for our website. You will have the freedom to contribute new ideas, develop new programs and expand our current offerings.

The employment coordinator facilitates our resume review service, directs members to post on LinkedIn and our Slack channel, and helps maintain the employment and job resources content on our website.
