About the Speaker
–Linda Oestreich is a well-known speaker in the world of Technical Communication. Her field of expertise include leadership, career management, writing and editing, creativity, information design, self-branding, ethics, and mind-mapping. Linda is an STC Fellow and former International President of the Society. Aside from that, she has also been on the Board of Directors for 10+ years and a member of STC since 1979. Presently, she is a member of the Houston and San Diego chapters and the Technical Editing SIG. She also co-presents the STC Certificate Program entitled Technical Editing Fundamentals.
Linda’s career has spanned Technical Communications from many perspectives, these include: management, human resources, academe, writer, editor, content manager, information architect, and project manager. She is a senior consultant with The Marlin Alliance, where she contractually supports the Director of Civilian Human Resources and EEO at the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR)-Headquarters in San Diego. She has a lifetime teaching credential from the California Community College System and currently teaches basic editing and information design for the Technical Communication Certificate Program at the University of California-San Diego (UCSD) Extension.
